The Boys discuss how friends reacted to John Kelly’s appointment as the White House Chief of Staff (it wasn’t a popular move), starting a Tactical Training Company and The Gunner’s Meat Loaf recipe!
We take a look at today’s headlines… China… a new Chief-of-Staff for the White House… and North Korea.
Alex Hollings is a former Marine NCO and currently a contributing editor at SOFREP. He joined us to talk about Kid Rock running for Senate, The Rock running for President, changes to the Constitutions that would allow the federal government to work for the citizens, home fire protection and his recent trip to a prison that is now being used as a live-fire training site by SOF units.
The Boys discuss the White House Communications Directors interview with The New Yorker magazine… pretty incredible, the Yankees breathing down the neck of the Red Sox, screening for mental health issues by Marine Corps recruiters and meat loaf.
The ALL MARINE RADIO Head Chef joins us to discuss the Los Angeles Dodgers, transgender military service and meatloaf. Where else where you hear such diversity in broadcasting?!
We’ll talk about the failure of the Republicans in the US Senate to pass ANYTHING relative to repealing & or replacing Obamacare.
We’ll talk about the continuing gong show that is the Trump White House, with Anthony Scaramucci become the village idiot on Thursday. Confusing a FOIA request for a leak… he went off.
We’ll talk transgender service and the US Military… how should that work in a Nation that doesn’t ban groups of Americans.
Mike McDowell, LtCol USMC (ret), is the Executive Director The Soldiers Project whose mission is:
“We provide free, confidential and unlimited mental health services to any active duty service member or veteran who has served since September 11, 2001.
We provide services to families and loved ones too – wives, husbands, partners, parents and children.
We don’t turn anyone away based on discharge status, branch of service, or whether they saw combat.
If you served, you get seen.”
It’s ground breaking stuff and sorely needed… we’ll find out what’s going on at The Soldiers Project.
The President yesterday announced on Twitter his policy decision relative to Transgender Service in the U.S. Military: “After consultation with my Generals and military experts, please be advised that the United States Government will not accept or allow transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the U.S. Military,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “Our military must be focused on decisive and overwhelming victory and cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail. Thank you.”
John Ubaldi, MGySgt USMC (ret), head of the Ubaldi Report joins us to discuss his thoughts on the President’s policy.
Karl Marlantes is a former 1stLt in the Marine Corps, an infantry officer in Vietnam, a recipient of the Navy Cross and the Purple Heart; he joined us to discuss leadership in Vietnam. Was leadership different in Vietnam? Were drugs, rape and racism part of his experience in Vietnam?
We also discuss how military organizations dehumanize warfighters, how leaders must “bring them back” from that dehumanized condition on a regular basis so our warfighters do not lose their humanity and commit acts that they will have to live with for the rest of their lives — which is an awful existence… just ask the soldiers who have lived with the scars and baggage of My Lai.
The President of the United States announced a ban on transgender military service… we’ll talk about that surprise. We’ll also talk about the remarks of Senator John McCain… who spoke for fifteen impassioned minutes on the floor of the US Senate yesterday about the Senate’s failure to act for the benefit of the Nation.
