At the urging of his children, General Richard “Butch” Neal, USMC (ret) penned “What Now Lieutenant?” He graciously accepted the invitation to join ALL MARINE RADIO for a couple hours to discuss the book, his career and the events that shaped his life that appear in the book. General Neal has been impacted his entire adult life by the events of 30-31 March 1967 when he was a 2ndLt forward observer for India Company, 3rd Battalion, 9th Marines — that company fought a fight with the North Vietnamese Army that would yield a Medal of Honor and four Navy Crosses — we discussed post-combat related mental health and his observations as a Vietnam Veteran.
His story is an incredible story and certainly worthy of your time.
