The Shangri-La Dialogue is the premier security forum for southern Asia and the western Pacific. In two speeches, one by US Secretary of Defense James Mattis and one by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, China and the entire region was put on notice that navigational freedom of the seas and economic respect and cooperation will be the preeminent goals of the future in the western Pacific.
Both speeches are very interesting.
