After playing a NPR interview yesterday to honor the passing of World War II Marine Sgt RV Burgin, I listened to a few more pieces of audio and decided additional time was needed to honor Sgt Burgin. World War II veterans were always my heroes growing up, bigger than life action figure who saved the world… and Sgt Burgin is exactly out of that mold. His soft spoken way lies in stark contrast to his firmly held convictions on the war and the “Jap” soldier.
Semper Fidelis Sgt Burgin. Well done.
