LANDMARK RULINGS: $2 million awarded to USMC family for sickness caused by toxic housing –&– VA must pay for part for vet ER visits

Two significant ruling were handed down this week that impact active duty personnel and veterans:

  1. A San Diego jury awarded a Marine SNCO and his family $2 million in damages for injuries suffered due to sub-standard housing
  2. The VA was ordered to pay for veteran ER visits that were not covered by the veteran’s personal insurance policy
