- JK lost 100lbs to join the Marine Corps at the age of 25
- Served in Fallujah, Iraq in 2005-2006
- In 2020 founded a YouTube Channel called “100 Years of Marine Corps Tankers” to preserve the stories and legacy of his fellow tankers and their community
