As we reflect on the 74th Anniversary of the Allied invasion of Normandy we listen to an interview that Mac did in 2001 with Harris Holman, a SSG in the US Army Rangers who, with his comrades, used grappling hooks to scale the cliffs of Pointe Du Hoc and then used rifles, machine guns and hand grenades along with the element of surprise to take down the German 16 inch and 18 inch shore guns that were firing on the Allied naval forces at work off the coast of France. The interview is a wonderful piece of oral history as Harris Holman was truly a piece of American military history.
