FROM “VARIETY” MAGAZINEPeter Jackson’s World War I documentary “They Shall Not Grow Old” broke its own record with $3.4 million at 1,007 theaters in North America on Thursday, according to industry estimates.

Jackson, who produced the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy of movies for Warner Brothers Studios, is the grandson of a World War I British soldier and an avid student of the conflict.  His movie is “must see” stuff if you’re a history or military history enthusiast. We’ll talk about it.
