Why I believe John “Doc” Bradley knew he wasn’t in the Joe Rosenthal “Iwo Jima Flag Raising” image and why he would have kept it to himself

As promised, the original story in the Omaha World-Herald is here  along with the outstanding graphic evidence (that is magnifiable) that was used by amateur historians to convince the United States Marine Corps to investigate whether the identities of the “Flag Raisers” were accurate.

MANEUVER WARFARE HISTORY: Col Tony Zinni, USMC presents “Combat Concepts” at The Basic School in 1989 (Part 3/3)

Col Tony Zinni, USMC
The Basic School, 1989
Quantico VA

THE GREATEST PME I’ve ever attended.  You’ll hear the first half of Col Zinni’s “Combat Concepts” PME — delivered in Quantico at The Basic School in 1989 after he gave up command of the 9th Marine Regiment.

Presentations like this one ought to be mandatory for ALLcommanders, from platoon to MEF.

You’ll hear me comment on the presentation at times, amplifying points or giving context to Col Zinni’s comments.

“Innovation” is the theme of the February issue of the Marine Corps Gazette — Iwo Jima, Khe Sanh & Hue in the pages of the Gazette archives

We’ll talk about the theme of “Innovation” in the February 2018 edition of the Marine Corps Gazette with the Editor & Publisher Col Chris Woodbridge, USMC (ret).

With the anniversaries of epic Marine Corps battles such as Iwo Jima, Hue and Khe Sanh this month, we’ll also talk to Chris about the literary treasure trove that resides in the digital archives of the Gazette.
